2 bottles Equilibrium / Trillium / Aslin
1x Equilibrium / Trillium BA Slow Baked Oatmeal Squares (15%) The original base was brewed in the summer 2020 to commemorate Pete and JC’s mutual love for the morning breakfast bar and cup of coffee. We allowed a single special Willet rye barrel to “slow bake” for 25 months. Following the extended barrel aging, we conditioned the beer on toasted almonds, Madagascar vanilla, EQ x @mostracoffee Kinetic blend coffee, Vietnamese Saigon cinnamon, and a touch of lactose. Barrel Aged Slow Baked Oatmeal Squares is ready to enjoy.
Barrel Aged Slow Baked Oatmeal Squares pours a viscous pitch black with mocha foam and aromas of chocolate chip Cinnabons, almond cookie batter, and vanilla cream. Upon your first sip you’ll notice that this beer is a chocolate lovers delight with deep notes of smooth and velvety high-quality chocolate throughout. Distinct chocolate notes are laced with flavors of almond marzipan, marshmallow frosted cinnamon roll, perfectly extracted cold brew, and a touch of vanilla spice from both the balanced addition of cinnamon and the toasted rye barrel. Slow Baked Oatmeal Squares is as balanced as it is complex and the extended time in oak and decadent flavors help each sip evolve making the slow baked version of this beer truly worth the time it was tucked away in a barrel.
1x Equilibrium / Aslin Barrel Aged Alfajores (14%) Just over 16 months ago, we took the base from the first Alfajores batch with Aslin Beer Company and aged it in a coconut rum barrel. During a recent sensory tasting, we determined it was ready for the Alfajores adjunct schedule of Honey, Hazelnuts, Almonds, Coconut, & Madagascar Vanilla.
Barrel Aged Alfjores is a treat. Viscous and pitch black in color, we get harmonious flavors of velvety fudge, coconut macaroons, nougat honey Twix bars, and a bunch of earthy crushed nuts. The coconut rum barrel works well with the adjuncts lending velvety flavors of molasses and honey cream throughout each sip and the weighted mouthfeel may have you thinking you’re drinking a rum mudslide instead our latest BA stout.
