Double Barrel Wilderness of History and Revolution D.B.S.J.
For sale are 2 of the best Double Barrel Aged Barleywines the city of Chicago has ever produced, from 2 pioneers of barrel aged brews.
Double Barrel Wilderness of History (2026): Barleywine. We've found a crevice of flavors that have us investing more time in the style. Nutty sweet bourbon-soaked graham cracker, sticky plum, sherry, torched Luxardo, distilled brown ale. This process begs to land overblown. Total barrel time was 52 months. Just shy of kindergarten, Double Barrel Wilderness of History has been pulling in and out of barrel staves, evaporating, concentrating, and risking heaps of unwanted qualities for quite some time. Its first stint in a mix of Weller and Elijah Craig barrels was 33 months. A second, 19-month round in Buffalo Trace took us to finish.
Release it from the can and you're stepping into a northwoods bake shop. Stroopwafel, campfire molasses, and excitement for the tastes to come. First sips follow suit, with added notes of leathery sherry and Garibaldi biscuits. If Fall were a Barleywine, it would be this. It took a long time to raise this one. Please bring it into your home and take care of it.
Revolution DBSJ: This blend of English-style Barleywines was aged between 18-24 months in a variety of premium bourbon barrels before being finished in freshly-dumped Eagle Rare casks. A slightly fortified malt structure provides just enough sweet lift on the palate to accommodate the added lumber and spirit, without stealing the show.
All cans are original owner, stored at 55 degrees.
Shipping is to Continental United States unless otherwise agreed upon.
