Singularity Squared is a doubling-down on the Singualarity concept. This particular combo began nearly three years ago when we obtained some Old Forester 19-year barrels, which were among the oldest barrels we’d seen to date. Sixteen months later, we liked the direction this particular barrel was heading, and decided to double-down on the well-aged character by moving it into an Elijah Crag 23-year barrel which we were lucky enough to get our hands on.
Exceptionally old bourbons have a unique and enticing character, often boasting a deeper, rich, old-growth oakiness than their younger counterparts, and considering the rarity of the barrels, we wanted to take the opportunity to really showcase this unique profile in a stout. Subtle smokiness, spice, vanilla, and dark dried fruits play in the background, and rich chocolatey malt brings everything together. The spirit presence is bold but mellow at the same time, and we are incredibly happy with how all these elements pull together in this beer.
