Moksa 2025 Releases
Mutuality XXV: Double barrel-aged stout blend first aged in Stagg Jr 8-year, Old Fitzgerald 19-year, and Henry McKenna 10year barrels for 20-27 months, then in Eagle Rare 10-year, Willett Family Reserve 10-year, and Calvados Apple Brandy barrels for an additional 9-16 months with Cook Island vanilla beans.
Mutuality XXV is once again a double-barrel aged stout, aged in several bourbon and one apple brandy barrel, and aged on Cook Island vanilla beans for the final stretch of the aging process. Apple brandy and vanilla come through in a big way on the nose, which switches to a bourbon-and-vanilla show on the palate. Big warming heat and mellow oak, deep dark chocolate, bright marshmallowy vanilla, and a lingering finish with the apple brandy making one last appearance alongside some delicate spice notes from the vanilla.

Singularity Squared is a doubling-down on the same concept. This particular combo began nearly three years ago when we obtained some Old Forester 19-year barrels, which were among the oldest barrels we’d seen to date. Sixteen months later, we liked the direction this particular barrel was heading, and decided to double-down on the well-aged character by moving it into an Elijah Crag 23-year barrel which we were lucky enough to get our hands on.
Exceptionally old bourbons have a unique and enticing character, often boasting a deeper, rich, old-growth oakiness than their younger counterparts, and considering the rarity of the barrels, we wanted to take the opportunity to really showcase this unique profile in a stout. Subtle smokiness, spice, vanilla, and dark dried fruits play in the background, and rich chocolatey malt brings everything together. The spirit presence is bold but mellow at the same time, and we are incredibly happy with how all these elements pull together in this beer.
