1 bottle TG Rye Double Barrel Assassin.
“The genesis for brewing Rye Double Barrel Assassin began in the Fall of 2020,” says Brewmaster Mike Saboe. “At the same time, we were finalizing blending of our first Double Barrel Assassin – which was aged in bourbon, then apple brandy barrels. Our goal was to incorporate the spicier notes of rye into a stout recipe focused on malt-derived chocolate characteristics.” He adds, “After over a year in Willett Rye barrels, a select few barrels were harmoniously blended in a tank before being introduced to Rittenouse Rye barrels for a second round of maturation. While our past experiences helped guide the barrels in the right direction, in order to remain true to our original intent, another round of sampling and selection was required. The culmination of this project is something we’re excited to have committed to and finally share.”
Expect to experience notes of chocolate chip brownies, whipped vanilla cream, and just enough rye whiskey to enhance the other characteristics surrounding it, says Saboe.
