(Brown Ale, 8.8%, 16oz) The Boss is a rendition of Big Bear Barrel Blend conditioned on maple black tea. Pouring a dark brown color with a head of coffee-colored foam, aromas of brown bread, caramel, dried fruits, and earthy American hops greet the senses. The blend of young Imperial Brown Ale with threads of a barrel-aged component further balances its malt character with notes of vanilla and a subtle tannic, oaky finish. Within this robust profile are mellow notes of maple sugar candies, Irish breakfast tea, and a hint of citrus that lingers on the palate.
