One can of Tree House released Sept 23rd
(Dry-hopped German Pils, 5.1%, 12oz) Following primary fermentation, this carefully managed batch of Trail received a judicious dose of whole-cone Galaxy hops, shipped from Australia. We go to great lengths to incorporate fresh, extraordinary ingredients into our beer, and this release captures that spirit. We are the first American brewery to import non-pelletized Galaxy directly from the source. This treatment captures a potent and well-rounded expression of this legendary variety, presenting notes of ripe pineapple, sweet guava, and bright passionfruit atop a zippy and completely crushable base beer. Refined and dutifully executed, Trail - Whole Cone Galaxy is a stunner!
Every once in a while, a beer comes around that legitimately means the world to us. A beer we have been dreaming of making for over a decade. Chasing and hoping. We are honored to be the first American brewery to use whole-cone Galaxy hops straight from Australia. That's right, baled, freshly kilned whole-cone Galaxy, from the fields of Rostrevor to our coolers in Charlton, Massachusetts. With this limited stock, we decided that Trail was, of course, the perfect template for this incredible treat. They flood the nose with ripe pineapple, sweet guava, and bright passionfruit on top of a zippy, completely crushable base beer. It's mild, elegant, and uniquely expressive. Even with the sophisticated harvest and pelletizing capabilities of our favorite farms, whole-cone hops still have something special. The volatile oils, lupulin, and resinous character are on full display when you use hops in their whole-cone form. This beer perfectly captures the striking duality of a blast of hops fit for an IPA that fades into a crushable Lager base. We hope you get to try this one. It will not last long.
