Double Barrel Prison of Elders (14%)
Last year we released Prison of Elders, a blend of old ales that had been aged in small format rye whiskey barrels for a year. Before packaging that beer we made a select blend of our favorite components and transferred it to a freshly-dumped Heaven Hill rye whiskey barrel where it rested for an additional six months.
Huge notes of toffee and caramel intermingle with chocolate, vanilla and very subtle dark fruit, while the palate is coated with the comforting warmth and presence of the barrel spirit and rye spice. A sipper to savor during the waning days of winter.
Double Barrel Prison of Maple (14.5%)
Old ale aged for over a year in Willet Family Reserve 6 Year Bourbon barrels, then transferred to bourbon maple barrels for an additional half year of aging.
Double Barrel Prison of Cognac (15%)
We took a select blend of old ales that were aged in bourbon barrels for a year and transferred a portion of that to a single cognac barrel for additional aging this past year. The threads of each barrel treatment weave together with every sip playing off of one another in a seamless harmony that goes down smooth and warms the chest as we head into the colder months.
Double Barrel Prison of Mezcal (14%)
Old ale aged in Willet family estate barrels for 1 year before finishing in a select Mezcal barrel.
