Our first Singularity for the 2025-2026 Advocators comes from a Weller 7-year bourbon barrel we acquired nearly two years ago, and filled with a made-for-barrels stout brewed with a significant addition of local blackberry honey. Upon recent sampling this particular barrel stood out to us in a big way, with a prominent dark chocolate character complimented by bright spirit notes from a barrel just slightly on the younger side. Though the honey component is nearly lost to time, it provides a subtle complexity to the underlying beer and plays nicely with some underlying cherry, vanilla, and char.

This second member-exclusive Singularity for the 2025-2026 Advocators is a special one. A couple years ago we got our hands on a George T. Stagg 15-year bourbon barrel, and while barrel hype doesn’t always translate directly to an amazing beer, it sure came through this time. This beer stood out in a big way when sampling it for the first time, and told us right away it had to be a Singularity.

On first impression the bourbon character jumps out of the glass with intensity that could be mistaken for a double barrel-aged beer, and gives way to massive chocolate and vanilla notes throughout the sip. We believe this beer is bold and balanced in all the right ways, and we are proud to offer it for our members’ consideration.
