One can of Tree House -- Sept 7th 2026
Old Man of the Mountain is an American Dark Lager that pours a deep ruby color with a peak of sticky foam. Tettnanger hops lend floral-spicy aromas above notes of roasted malt, a flash of coffee, and a hint of chocolate.
It is a brilliant and expressive new lager in our extensive Classic Styles Program.
As long as there were people to behold it, a stone face stood watch over Franconia Notch. There was something wonderfully strange about finding a human face in the middle of the White Mountains, a vast expanse of rugged wilderness where, depending on the trail, you might go a long time without seeing another person.
In 2003, despite decades of efforts to stave off natural erosion, it collapsed overnight. Yet the legendary relief has left a lasting impression. His face can still be found throughout New Hampshire, on quarters, license plates, and countless other reminders. Nearby, a series of steel profilers acts as a memorial, recreating the illusion of his profile when viewed from a certain angle. It seems to strike a chord within us even now, reminding us we are of this earth, something that is so easy to forget in our modern world.

, a landscape painter from New Hampshire who captures the spirit of the White Mountains in her work. The original painting can be enjoyed in the second slide of this post.
