1x Equilibrium / Aslin Barrel Aged Alfajores (15%) Just over 16 months ago, we took the base from the first Alfajores batch with Aslin Beer Company and aged it in a coconut rum barrel. During a recent sensory tasting, we determined it was ready for the Alfajores adjunct schedule of Honey, Hazelnuts, Almonds, Coconut, & Madagascar Vanilla.
Barrel Aged Alfjores is a treat. Viscous and pitch black in color, we get harmonious flavors of velvety fudge, coconut macaroons, nougat honey Twix bars, and a bunch of earthy crushed nuts. The coconut rum barrel works well with the adjuncts lending velvety flavors of molasses and honey cream throughout each sip and the weighted mouthfeel may have you thinking you’re drinking a rum mudslide instead our latest BA stout.
