The Rusty Nail begins life as The First Nail, an oatmeal stout of epic proportions with brewer’s licorice, smoked barley, and pale malt and is then aged on cinnamon bark. She becomes The Rusty Nail after spending 15 months in 12-year old bourbon barrels. Trillium Rocky Road Collab with Great Notion Brewing
We teamed up with our friends at Great Notion to brew our latest dessert-inspired imperial stout: Rocky Road. To achieve the elements of this classic ice cream, we added over 400 pounds of marshmallows to the mash along with lactose and then conditioned the beer over an extended period with chocolate, toasted almonds, and Madagascar Vanilla Beans to maximum their flavor.The end result pours black with a light brown head.
