Eld started back in 2018 when we brewed a Double Mash 28 Hour Boil Imperial Stout designed for extended barrel aging. The liquid spent 22 months in Apple Brandy barrels, 10 months in 15 year old Thomas H Handy Rye Whiskey barrels, then 18 months in 10 year old Old Rip Van Winkle Wheated Bourbon barrels. After over four years of aging, we pulled the beer out of the barrel and treated it with Mexican vanilla beans.”
