Tilquin Oude Cassis Tilquin à l'ancienne, 375ml, 6.3% ABV. 2018 vintage. 2 bottles available.
Style: Per back label: "Beer of spontaneous fermentation, the Old Cassis Tilquin is made from the fermentation of 200 gr of blackcurrants by liter of lambic. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, this beer is refermented in the bottle." Ingredients: water, malt, wheat, hops, blackcurrants.
Concept: Tilquin is a gueuzerie - they blend purchased lambic wort from various Pajottenland breweries. "À l'ancienne" means made in the traditional way without sweeteners. 200g/L blackcurrants is a high fruit rate - cassis is tart and aromatic. 8 years of age has let the bright cassis mature to dark berry/jam character while lambic funk integrated.
