With legs the size of tree trunks and tusks that kept the fiercest predators at bay, their power bore legends across our ancestors’ cultures. One wonders if these lumbering giants were a vital part of our conception of our role on this earth. Our hubris was surely checked by such a gentle grazing beast, impervious to the cold with the power of a mountain in its step. The Mammoth pours a clear ruby-orange color with mountains of sticky foam that clings to the glass. A robust malt bill hits the palate with flavors of sweet caramel that crescendos into spice and earthy bitterness. Citra, Chinook, and Centennial hops create layers of citrus peel, dank hop yards, and pungent, woody pine aromas. This beer is best paired with a renewed sense of wonder.
