(Double IPA, 8%, 16oz) First Press is a Double IPA brewed with our freshest New Zealand hops. Pouring a pale orange color beneath a crest of frothy foam, it bursts with tropical aromatics. Atop a creamy malt bill, notes of candied pineapple, passionfruit syrup, crushed white grape, and fresh limeade wash across the palate. Whereas most of our Tree House-style IPAs utilize hops in the kettle, whirlpool, and dry hop, First Press also receives a mash-hop addition. This treatment breaks down chemical compounds locked within the hops, saturating our wort with precursors that our house yeast transforms into an incredibly juicy profile. The bright aromatics of Nelson, Motueka, and Riwaka reveal a nuanced character that recalls the unmistakable flavor of homemade fresh-squeezed juices. Cans are stored in a walk-in fridge (restaurant style) that is kept at 41.6 degrees. Every cans are individually wrapped in bubblewrap (or I use Whalepods depending on the size of the order).
